BD Ripple Effect is a resident‑led network in Barking & Dagenham anchored in Thames View and Barking Riverside, where hundreds of neighbours drive planning and community campaigns based on real local experience through  surveys, conversations and real time engagement with over 3,000 residents.

Residents’ Charter (launched July 2025)
Co‑designed with local residents and UCL, this Charter distils resident priorities—from access to green and civic space, to the pressing need for a local health centre, and strategies for sustainable population growth under resident oversight. The draft was publicly unveiled in July 2025, endorsed by local resident as a people‑led blueprint for future infrastructure and services.

Save our Warehouse Campaign Summer 2023
When Everyone’s Warehouse—the free makerspace serving Barking Riverside—faced eviction, BD Ripple Effect mobilised residents with petitions, media coverage, and a community rally. A protest outside Town Hall, a family-friendly music and film gathering, and a dramatic presentation with a giant mock‑cheque and petition convinced the Council to withdraw relocation plans.
