About the campaign...

Welcome!

#SaveOurWarehouse is a campaign run by the Friends Of The Warehouse Group. We are a group of local residents who want to save the Everyone’s Warehouse – one of the UK’s biggest and best free makers spaces – from closure.

The Campaign So Far…

Everyone’s Warehouse is managed by a charity project called Everyone Everyday who were given a peppercorn lease in addition to £1.5 million in funding.

The Warehouse provided a roof for creative social businesses and access to amazing free facilities like wood working, textile making, pottery, gardening, catering and event space for residents. From December 2022 the Council and funders chose not to continue funding Everyone Everyday and want to take back the building to rent out commercially for around £200k annually from December 2023.

Us residents were dismayed that we are losing the only free community space in our ward south of the A13. With so much money pumped into the project we are concerned that the community of makers will be broken up and its equipment dispersed to places out of reach of residents. With homes being built and the local population increasing rapidly residents are left few free community spaces to socialize, relax and learn new skills.

Thankfully us residents have launched a campaign to #SaveOurWarehouse. We have:

  • Developed a robust business case to keep the building open and secured £46k in potential revenue.
  • Are building a consortium of local groups to manage the space.
  • Launched an online petition.

  • Received interest from large grant making trusts who could financially support the warehouse’s continuation as a community makers space.

All we need now is for senior stakeholders to meet with us residents to discuss our business plan.
